What Does It Mean to Adopt a Street?
Be the heartbeat of your block.
When you adopt a street, you become its community champion. Share photos of your neighbourhood through the seasons, post updates about local events, host community garage sales, a cul-de-sac BBQ, share your tools; and help neighbours stay connected to the history and life of their street. You can also invite neighbours to join you as supporters.
Any resident, young or old, long-time local or brand new to the neighbourhood is welcome to adopt their street and share what makes it special!
Adopt Your Street
Click 'Adopt This Street' next to your street name. You'll be the official street champion! Your first name appears on the listing by default — you can choose to show your username instead when you adopt.
Share & Connect
Post updates, photos, and neighbourhood announcements through the Ambassador Portal. Neighbours can join as Ambassadors with a single click, they do NOT have to become active in the Heritage sector, just choose "Adopt-A-Street" for their profile.
Invite Neighbours
Your street is already adopted? Neighbours can click 'Join as a Neighbour' to show their support and add their name to your street's community.
