Brookswood-Fernridge's Story
Brookswood-Fernridge traces its European settlement to the late 1800s, when pioneers were drawn to the fertile lands of Campbell Valley. Early landmarks include Fernridge Hall (1921) and Brookswood Community Hall (1930s).
The construction of the Port Mann Bridge accelerated suburban development, but the community has maintained a strong commitment to preserving its natural and heritage assets. Today, density amendments to the Brookswood-Fernridge Neighbourhood Plan and SSMUH rezoning applications are the primary heritage battlegrounds.
