2025–2026

Consultation Ongoing — No Bylaw Adopted Yet

As of early 2026, the City has not adopted a heritage protection bylaw. The consultation process continues, but without a bylaw in place, every historic building in the City remains legally unprotected and vulnerable to demolition.

March 2026 (ongoing)

Residents Urged to Participate in Consultation

This is the critical window for residents to demand strong, legally enforceable heritage protections — not just a voluntary heritage register. The City's decisions in this consultation period will shape heritage policy for decades.
