Otter District's Story
The Otter District, encompassing Aldergrove East, has a rich history rooted in agricultural development. The Otter Elementary School opened in 1889, and the Otter District Farmers' Institute incorporated in 1922 with 25 founding members.
The Great Northern Railway contributed to the area's growth, encouraging the development of Aldergrove as a commercial centre. The F.J. Hart Building (1910) and the Aldergrove Agricultural Hall (1923) are key heritage landmarks.
